The first stage of the Nongshim Cup will be played between China, Japan and Korea. Lee Sedol beat Wang Xi in the first game, then Iyama Yuta. In the third game Xie He beat Lee Sedol B+R after 189 moves (this is the fifth Xie's win, in seven games, against Lee). Then Xie He beat his next opponent, Sakai Hideyuki.
The All Asia New Star team tournament happened. On the fifth, the Chinese and Korean teams will play, determining the champion. Korean team of Seoul tied the last match 4-4, but won the tournament (2th Hangzhou, 3rd Taipei, 4th Tokyo).
Yamashita Keigo beat B+6.5 Nakano Hironari in the final game of the 19th Ryusei (the game was played in August, 19th), winning the title (this game was the 16th consecutive win for Yamashita).
Iyama Yuta beat W+R after 170 moves the Challenger Takao Shinji in game 3 of the 35th Meijin. Iyama Yuta leads 3-0 in the match (this is the 11th Iyama's win against Takao in 12 official games).
Cho Chikun beat W+3.5 Kobayashi Koichi in the 2nd round of the NHK Cup. It was the 127th official game between them and now Cho leads 64-63 tie in their life-long rivalry. They have not faced each other since the 2004 NHK Cup. They will play again in September in the preliminaries of the 36th Gosei.
Team Korea won the 11th Nongshim Cup. The format is a win and continue team tournament. The remaining players are, for Japan: Hane Naoki(9d), for China: Chang Hao(9d), Gu Li(9d), Liu Xing(7d), for Korea: Lee Changho(9d). This tournament is being studied on SL at 11th Nongshim Cup. Results: Liu Xing beat B+5.5 Hane Naoki, then lost to Lee Changho B+R. Lee Changho beat Gu Li B+R. In the last game Lee Changho beat Chang Hao B+R after 231 moves.
Cho U beat B+R Yamashita Keigo in the first game of the 48th Judan. This is the 8th match (third consecutive for a big title) between Cho and Yamashita (Cho won 5 matches, losing 2 of them); previously, they played 56 games (34-22 for Cho).

Lee Changho beat Kang Dongyun in the second game of the 28th KBS Cup, winning the title 2-0 (third title KBS in a row). The game will be published 2010-03-04. Tis is the 139th title for Lee Changho.

World Student Oza took place in Tokyo, Japan. Meng Xiaolong? (China 🇨🇳) won all four rounds to win the tournament.
Xie Yimin beat Umezawa Yukari in the second game of the 13th Women's Kisei, winning the title 2-0. Xie Yimin now holds all the three japanese Women's titles.
