• 7 September 2005: (Japan) Yamashita Keigo defeats Nakaonoda Tomomi to become the challenger of Cho U in the 53rd Oza Title match. First game will take place on 28 October 2005.
• 6 June 2005: (International) The 18th Fujitsu Cup will be retained by a Korean: the quarter-finals were swept by Choi Cheolhan, Song Taekon, Yoo Changhyuk and Lee Sedol.
• 5 March 2005: (International) Chang Hao, 9p has won the Ing Cup 3-1 over Choi Cheolhan, 9p.
• 28 February 2005: (Korea) Yun Yeongseon, 4p defeated Rui Naiwei, 9p in the final round of the loser's bracket of the Women's Kuksu. Yun Yeongseon, 4p was put into the losers bracket by Rui Naiwei, 9p on 10 December 2004. She will now go on to play Cho Hyeyeon, 5p in a best-of-three competition.
• 28 February 2005: (Korea) The winners of the preliminaries for the Electron Land Cup have all been decided. Cho Hunhyun, 9p; Yoo Jaehyeong, 6p; Choi Cheolhan, 9p; Cho Hyeyeon, 5p.
• 26 February 2005: (International) Lee Changho, 9p defeated Wang Xi, winning the 6th Nongshim Cup for Korea.
• 26 February 2005: (International) In the international Internet Go Championship Gu Li, 7p of China defeated Zhou Junxun, 9p of Taiwan. He will go on to play Kobayashi Koichi, 9p of Japan.
• 25 February 2005: (International) Lee Changho, 9p defeated O Meien, 9p in the 3rd round of the 3rd stage of the Nongshim Cup. The game against Wang Xi, 5p will be held on the 26th.
• 24 Feb 2005: (International) Lee Changho, 9p defeated Wang Lei Sr., 8p in the 6th Nongshim Cup. He plays O Meien, 9p on the 25th and the winner of that round will go on to play Wang Xi, 5p for the cup.
• 24 February 2005: (Korea) Lee Sedol, 9p won the 6th Maxim Cup 2-1 over Yang Jaeho, 9p.
• 19 February 2005: (Korea)Choi Cheolhan, 9p won the 48th Kuksu 3-0 against Lee Changho, 9p.
• 17 February 2005: (Korea)Lee Sedol, 9p defeated Yang Chae-ho, 9p in the 2nd round of the 6th Maxim Cup final. The best-of-three series stands at 1-1.
• 16 February 2005: (Korea)Yun Yeongseon, 4p beat Park Jieun, 5p in the tournament for the 9th Women's Kuksu. She will now face Rui Naiwei, 9p and the winner of that match will go against the current Female Kuksu, Cho Hyeyeon, 5p for a best-of-three final.
