Sensei's Library
Sensei's Library (short: SL) is meant to be a place where Go players can meet to find information, contribute information and discuss any items related to Go.
Sensei's Library is mainly in the English language, but articles in other languages are also welcome. There are several sister wikis, such as EncyGoPédie in French. If you do add a page in another language than English to Sensei's Library, please add the Language Template at the top with a short explanation in English indicating what the page is about. This also helps other editors in determining whether a page is appropriate and not spam.
Just like in a bricks-and-mortar library, you can look for information on various subjects in the Reference Section and find pages in the master index.
You can quickly get help understanding Wiki pages and learn how to use Wiki.
SL is a Wiki Wiki Web site using GoWiki and as such can be edited by everyone!
You are encouraged to contribute to existing articles and add new ones (don't try this with a pen in your local library). Your wisdom will then be available to all subsequent users. You can expand entries and correct mistakes if you see them, or add comments, etc. Have a look at Wiki Etiquette before you start modifying pages.
Since we are in cyberspace, there is no need to be quiet! Discussion on all subjects is welcome. Visit the Library Lobby, where discussions are always ongoing, or hang around the Coffee Machine. You can even ask Quick Questions.
Please don't forget that most (all?) of our contributors are amateur players. That means that you should take their opinions with a grain of salt. For example, if you apply a tesuji found here in one of your games and it turns out it is bogus and you lose a group and thus the game, don't blame us. Instead come back here and add your newly acquired knowledge to that page :o)
Quite unlike any library on the corner, we are not quite sure what SL will end up looking like or being used as. It is up to the users to define what they want and determine the future use of Sensei's Library. For the nostalgics, check out the original pages.
Enjoy!
