Gu Li
Gǔ Lì (古力; born Feb. 3 1983) is a Chinese professional Go player who reached 9-dan in 2006. He has often been ranked #1 in the Chinese Ranking for many years; and as of the end of January 2013 was tied for #1 with Tuo Jiaxi.[1]

Gu was one of the strongest players in the world and reached 900 wins in his careeer in 2013-07-09, defeating Kim Jiseok in the 1st round of the 1st Mlily Cup. He was the title holder of several major Chinese title: the 22nd Mingren. He has held the Mingren title for six years, and the Tianyuan for six years. He also won the 11th Chinese NEC Cup defeating Liu Shizhen, and was the challenger for the 10th Chinese NEC Cup, losing to Chang Hao.
With his win in the 1st BCcard Cup in 2009, he became the first professional to simultaneously hold five international titles.
He was awarded 9-dan professional status after defeating Chen Yaoye to win his first international title, the 10th LG Cup, in April 2006.
He has an aggressive and combative style, where he immediately goes for the kill but is also known for his great invading skills. His opening is highly praised by other professionals.[2][3]
Gu Li has developed quite a rivalry with Lee Sedol. The two players competed in a Jubango (ten games match) sponsored by Mlily, which began January 26, 2014 and ended September 28th, 2014 with a 6-2 victory for Lee.
