Pak Yeong-hun
Pak Yeong-hun (박영훈, 朴永訓, Park Younghun, b. 1 April 1985 in Seoul, South Korea) is a Korean, professional 9-dan. He is one Korea's top professionals. He was a pupil of Ch'oe Kyu-pyeong. In 2013, Pak reached his 1,000th career game and 700th win.[2] His hobbies include tennis and playing Tetris. His nickname is Little Prince.[3]
Style
Enjoys peaceful and simple games where he can utilize his very strong endgame, counting and positional judgment. He's good at finding flexible moves, sabaki, and tidying up positions, but is relatively weaker at fighting than other top players, such as Gu Li and Yi Se-tol.
In 2011, An Younggil said:
His smile is so pure like a baby and his mind is beautiful, so whenever I talk to him I feel good. He is a real Baduk lover and he studies Go more than anybody else as I mentioned above. When he was an insei, his teacher commanded his students to play 300 game records a week, and all students thought it’s impossible except him. He said it’s easy because he can do 50 games each day, and he can even have a day off.
I’ve never heard any bad word from him, and most of Baduk fans including pros like him because of that.[3]
