檀啸(Tán Xiào), Chinese professional 9 dan born 1993-03-10, promoted 1 dan 2004-07-24, 2 dan 2005-07, 3 dan 2007-07-11, 4 dan 2007-07-24 (two promotions in the same edition of Chinese promotion tournament), 5 dan 2009-07-27 and 7 dan in 2012. He was promoted to 9 dan in 2017 after his first international victory, the 11th Chunlan Cup, beating Park Yeong-hun. Tan was a student of Nie Weiping.

On the [ext] 2024-01-02 rating list, Tan is now #24 in the world and #18 in China.

Personal life

In November 2017, Tan married Chinese professional 3 dan Jia Ganglu, ranked #69 female player in the world, and #568 overall. Tang's mentor Nie Weiping officiated. [ext] So excited!
