Maeda Nobuaki was famous for his tsumego problems - he composed one a day for 40 years. Many collections of problems he composed have been published. A famous series of three volumes was published in 1965. Apparently Japanese publishers were experimenting at the time with using Western conventions for printing Japanese, but it didn't catch on.
Among the books by Maeda Nobuaki are:
- Life and Death Intermediate Level Problems: 7 kyu to 2 dan.
- Maeda Tsumego, three volumes of the series 実力囲碁新書
