Nagahara Yoshiaki

(b. 1939) Nihon Ki-in pro, 6 dan in 1977. He accompanied Hans Pietsch (German go professional) on the fateful go-instruction tour of Guatemala in January 2003, where they were both robbed at gunpoint and Hans Pietsch was murdered.

He retired in 2022 at the age of 82, beeing promoted to 8 dan.

Since several decades ago, he toured Europe for teaching, almost every year. Often in summer, attending the European Go Congress as well. He also accompanied Iwamoto Kaoru 9p on visits to the European Go Cultural Center - founded by Iwamoto - in Amstelveen, the Netherlands.
