Amateur tournaments
Keywords: Tournament
Several organizations, such as the International Go Federation, the Japanese and Korean Go Associations and the Ing foundation, hold worldwide amateur tournaments, lasting a week or longer. Participants are often the local champions of one national association. Europe and the US each have their congress. Major city tournaments in Europe have been grouped into one competition and linked to a sponsor as the European Cup. Follow the links below to read more about such events. Other formats are round robin, McMahon, and single elimination.
