Elementary Go Series

Series of Go books published by Ishi Press between 1973 and 1982. Mastering the series should bring a player to the level of amateur shodan. Several of the books remain important texts for Western students, including In the Beginning, Tesuji, Life and Death, and Attack and Defense. Of the seven books in the series, 38 Basic Joseki is the most dated. Essential Joseki is a possible alternative text.

The books were later republished by Kiseido.
