BQM 21 / Left Side

DaveSigaty: I think that Black has the opportunity to use the weakness of the various white stones to push White around while keeping the initiative. For example by starting with 1 which threatens the upper corner and will make a a real threat against the group on the side. This kind of sequence always makes me feel good (I'm a control freak you say? :-) But is this appropriate here? How should White counter this? Is there a better way for Black than 1?
