SGW Cup
(SGW杯中庸戦) Japanese professional tournament, sponsored by the namesake Tokyo real estate company St. Grande W.
It's a sixteen player, four round, two day Swiss system tournament held from 2018. The first prize is 2,000,000 yen.
Entry is restricted to Nihon Ki-in players 31-60 years old, who have never won a big seven title, nor the Ryusei, the Agon Cup or the SGW Cup itself. "The full title of the event describes it as a Golden Mean (chuyo) Tournament, which is just a posh (Confucian) way of saying it's for the middle-ranked players, or the also-rans." (quote from JF)
See John Fairbairn's description for more information.
