Akiyama Jiro

Akiyama Jiro (秋山　次郎; born November 23, 1977) is a professional player of the Nihon Ki-in. Shodan in 1992, 7 dan in 1999. 8 dan in 2002 and 9 dan in 2012-09-14 (winning 200 games as 8 dan).

Winner in 2003 of the 18th NEC Shun-Ei.

On 2008-12-11 Akiyama obtained 500 wins in his career.

He was a student of Kikuchi Yasuro.

He was in the Kisei League of 2009-2011.

In September 9, 2013, he won the semi-final of 39th Tengen. Beating Yamashita Keigo, he won the right to challenge the title holder, Iyama Yuta, but lost 0-3 in the title match.
