Qian Yuping

Qian Yuping (錢宇平, b. 6 October 1966 in Shanghai, China) is a Chinese, professional 9-dan of the Zhongguo Weiqi Xiehui. He was considered one of the strongest Chinese players during the late 1980s to early 1990s.

He won the National Go Individual in 1988 and 1st Qiwang in 1989. In 1991, he reached the final of the 4th Fujitsu Cup, but was too ill to attend. He lost by default. It was the only recorded case of a default loss in the finals of an international tournament.
