Parallel ladders may mean any of the following:
- Alternative ladders.
- Intertwined ladders.
- A special kind of spiral ladder where one ladder is run to the end, and after a capture and a squeeze another ladder runs parallel to the first ladder so that the "surrounding" stones between the two ladders alternate between one and two liberties. See Example 3 of turnaround ladder.
