Some way to identify main line versus variants in complicated sgf
- Who
- Oren
- Description
- I've been using drago to take commented sgf from gogameguru and creating pdf. So far I really like it, but one major issue is that I have no idea if I'm on the main line or a variation when looking at a very complicated sgf. Is there any way to make the organization easier for something like this? I tried GoWrite2? which does this part better but doesn't handle the variations as well as Drago does.

Copy and copypaste Board postion
- Who
- Farkas
- Description
- I don't find a way to do it, but it would be very useful to copy the board position of a node, and paste it to another one (even in a different file). Much like the 'save to clipboard' command, but not the whole tree. (At the moment it is possible to export a position to a separate sgf file, but I can not insert that position to a node of an existing tree.)

Better touchscreen support - 2 clicks to place stones
- Who
- SamTheGliderPilot
- Description
- Using a Windows 8 touchscreen device, it is very easy when doing problems or playing an engine to tap the wrong intersection with my finger or a stylus. It would be useful for there to be an option where clicking/tapping an intersection selects that intersection, and a second click/tap actually places the stone and ends the turn.

(or maybe make it possible to let users add new toolbars. At the moment (2011) Drago has only 5 toolbars and i would like to have more choice. (i know i can add/ remove commands to the toolbars but i would like to make my own toolbars/ have more options to remove parts of them. at least i would like extra:
- an database toolbar (so that the file toolbar can be shorter)
- an engine toolbar
- 3 users toolbars (for my own toolbars) this only if it is difficult
to let users make their own toolbars)

Game scoring
- Who
- willemien
- Description
- scoring routine
I would like that drago has an final scoring routine (to decide the final tally at the end of the game)
I guess it will be complicated, it depends on the rules area or territory scoring) and on the life /death status of groups. (it also needs to be able to be changed by user ed)
Maybe a start is to look how Dragon Go Server does territory scoring

Customize number of moves per printed diagram
- Who
- DaveSigaty
- Description
- An option to choose the number of moves shown in each diagram to be printed. Consider a game of exactly 200 moves with the default setting to print one diagram for every 50 moves. I imagine Drago creating a list of 4 diagrams: diagram 1 - 1-50, diagram 2 - 51-100, etc. I imagine clicking on diagram 1 in the list and changing the 50 to 16. Now Drago updates the list to 5 diagrams: diagram 1 - 1-16, diagram 2 - 17-66, ... diagram 5 - 166-200. I click on diagram 2 and change the 66 to 43. Drago again updates the list to 6 diagrams: diagram 1 - 1-16, diagram 2 - 17-43, diagram 3 - 44-93,..., diagram 5 - 144-193, diagram 6 - 193-200. I now click on diagram 5 and change the 194 to 200, eliminating the small diagram 6.

"Flatten" command
- Who
- okvonnegut, aoiro, Farkas
- Description
- I know I can export a .sgf of the current position but I'd like a way to make the current position the start position. That is, flatten a number of moves into a single node. To do it now I have to export position to sgf and then load that sgf anew... But then I would still lose subsequent moves.
This could also help when editing tsumego where the first move of White is in fact part of the starting position. As such, it is not easy to use them e.g. in GoGrinder, because it thinks you have to guess the White move. "Flattening" (and then marking) this move into the initial position would help editing some chinese tesuji problem sets I'm currently working with now.

Insertion of moves in the middle of a sequence
- Who
- Slowman, okvonnegut, aoiro, Farkas
- Description
- Interesting. There is no way to do that for the moment without editing the sgf file.
Copying the remaining moves in a branch and append them at a different position, in a different branch, or in a different file - is this already possible somehow? If not, I would really much like to see that! I would also volunteer to help specify how to select and copy move sequences on the board and in the game tree (e.g. mark a stone in a Joseki on the board, hold shift and use the mouse-wheel to include following/previous moves, then release shift, choose "copy move sequence" and then go somewhere else and choose "insert move sequence"). I also would volunteer in solving issues that would come up with that in the implementation (i.e. manipulation of the game tree and the sgf). -aoiro

"Minimize" board for printing diagrams.
- Who
- Malweth, okvonnegut
- Description
- When printing diagrams (especially tsumego) the whole board is printed. Most of the board is empty. It would be nice if you could specify how small to shrink the printed section of the board, based on where the stones are placed. You could specify having 1-19 blank lines around the stones (19 default, prints whole board). This would improve printing tsumego and allow more problems per page.

Enhanced Score Estimator display
- Who
- SpongeBob?, Inego
- Description
- The current Score Estimator from the game engine only gives a result like W+30. However, often the status of groups is miscalculated. As there is no way to tell if that happend, a result like W+30 is almost useless. It would be nice to get a graphical display on how the result was calculated, i.e. which stones were calculated as being dead or alive. Hope the game engine provides a way to get this information.

Allow empty MDI frame (with no open tabs)
- Who
- BruceTheHoon
- Description
- This is more of a nuisance: when Drago starts up, it should not auto-open a tab, because it cannot possibly have the faintest idea what do I intend to do - what board size, what kind of opponent etc.. The default creation of a new tab when I close the last one is likewise nothing but a nuisance, because e.g. it keeps opening tabs with without a GnuGo opponent tied to it even if I keep playing GnuGo and closing the tab at the end.
