Modern Master Games Vol. 1, The Dawn of Tournament Go is a go game commentary book published in e-book & book form in 2011 & 2012 respectively. It is available in e-book form via Smart Go Books and in book form via Kiseido Publishing Company. The commentary is compiled & edited by Rob van Zeijst and Richard Bozulich from professional sources, with historical notes by John Power.
Covered are eleven games from tournaments: seven Honinbo, two Judan and two Meijin titles matches. The period spans 1941-1964, during which the Honinbo title was the most prestigious in the go world.
A typical commentary occupies 17 Go World-size pages (with 16-game record diagrams and 70-explanatory diagrams).
