CEGO Academic System

The CEGO (Go) Academic System was created as part of the contract between CEGO and the EGF. Between 6 and 10 players will be nominated by the EGF each year to go to study in the academic system. CEGO then chooses between 4 to 6 players to accept into the system. The accepted players then have 5 to 6 months of funded study in China, and access to 3 months of online training afterwards.

Players who apply to the EGF for this system would normally satisfy the following

• Have the ambition to become a Professional player
• Be under 26 years old
• Possess an EGF-rating of at least 2500
• Be supported by their national Go-organisation
