Chang Fu Kang


Chang Fukang (曽富康, b. 30 January 2003) Nihon Ki-in professional; first and currently only professional from Malaysia. He qualified in November 2019 in the Winter Qualifying Tournament, under the Special Qualification for Overseas Citizens rule, having scored nine wins and five losses, finishing fourth of sixteen players. He began (?) his career in April 2020.

Chang learnt Go as a preschooler in Shanghai. He studied the game in Japan from January 2019.

As an amateur he played the World Youth Goe Championship U12 (2014) and U16 (2016), the 36th (2015) and 37th (2016) World Amateur Go Championships, and the Korean Prime Minister's Cup (2016). He also competed unsuccessfully in the 2014-15 CEGO Academic System tournament, losing to Jan Simara.
