Family
Née 石井茜 Ishii Akane. Ishii Akane became a professional shodan in August 2007, 2 dan in 2011, 3 dan in 2014. In April 2019, changed her professional name to Tatsumi Akane, matching her legal name after marriage. She and her husband have two sons.
Her elder sister (by two years) Miyuki is a strong amateur (6 dan) and Go instructor. Miyuki married Nakamura Shin'ya 9p, and their daughter is prodigy “genius girl” Nakamura Sumire. Akame lost the only official game she has played against her niece, when Sumire was 11 years and 11 months old (B–5.5).

- First female winner of Children's Meijin in 1994 (The next was Mannami Kana).
- Finished 9th in the 1st World Student Oza in 2003.
- One of eight Japanese representatives in the 9th Asian New Star Match.
- Reached the challenger final of the 28th Female Honinbo tournament (2009) but lost to Aoki Kikuyo.
- Won the 16th (2010) Ricoh Pair Go Cup with Sakai Hideyuki, tying with Umezawa Yukari and Takao Shinji.
