Onishi Ryuhei
Onishi Ryuhei (大西竜平, b. 14 March 2000) is a Japanese 7-dan professional of the Nihon Ki-in.
1p: 2015, 2p: 2016-06-10, 3p: 2017-08-22, 4p: 2019-01-01, 5p: 2020-01-09, 7p: 2020-08-28 or -31 [1] (due to entering the Honinbo league).
In 2016, he won the 41st Shinjin-O. In the same year, he won the Kido Prize for best winning percentage (79.6%), and as a result of these accomplishments was also awarded the Kido New Star Prize.
In 2022, he reached the quarterfinal of the 69th NHK Cup before being knocked out by Ichiriki Ryo.
Perhaps his greatest achievement is having maintained his place in the Kisei A League ever since entering it in the 45th (2020-21) edition. He's one of the strongest Japanese professional 7 dans.
He's been knocked out of the 2022 Gosei, in the first round of the main tournament, by Kyo Kagen.
