Ida Atsushi (伊田篤史)

Ida Atsushi (伊田篤史, b. 15 March 1994) is a Japanese, professional 8-dan of the Nihon Ki-in, Chubu branch. He was a pupil of Baba Shigeru 9d. In February 2013, he was awarded the Kido Rising Star prize.

In 2009, he started his professional career with an 11-game winning streak. In 2012, Ida participated in the 2012 BC Card Cup, advancing to the main tournament where he beat Peng Quan in the first round. The same year, he held the 4th best record among Japanese professionals. In 2013, he won a place in the Honinbo League and was promoted from 4- to 7-dan as a result. He completed the league with a 6-1 record, won a playoff against Yamashita Keigo to challenge Iyama Yuta. For becoming the challenger, he earned promotion to 8 dan. On April 22, 2015, he won the 53rd Judan title match against Takao Shinji with a 3-2 record, With this victory, he became the youngest Judan in history.

Ida Atsushi is the youngest NHK cup winner at the age of 20. He beat Ichiriki Ryo in the final of the 62nd NHK Cup.

He got married to Mannami Nao 3-dan in 2018.
