Nakamura Doseki
Nakamura Doseki (中村 道碩 Nakamura Dōseki, 1582–1630) is regarded (retrospectively) as the founder of the Inoue house. Doseki was the pupil of Honinbo Sansa and guardian of Honinbo Sanetsu. Doseki was the second Meijin 1623–1630.
Doseki’s main rival was Yasui Santetsu, the founder of the Yasui house. According to traditional records, they are supposed to have played 120 games over a period of just a few years, with Doseki winning two thirds of them. They also played the very first castle game in 1626.
