Awaji Shuzo

Awaji Shuzo (淡路 修三 Awaji Shūzō, born 13 August 1949) is a Japanese Nihon Ki-in 9-dan professional Go player who had reached 900 wins as of July 9th 2009, the 17th Nihon Ki-in player to do so. Source

Awaji challenged for several of the big seven Japanese titles, including the Meijin, Honinbo and Gosei, but has never won one. Awaji was nicknamed 'Rocky' for his hard 'punch' and tenacity in fighting games.

He is the author of The Invasions That Amateurs Don't Know.

From around 2000 to 2010, he had a Japanese-language website, awaji-shuzo.com. Many archived versions of it are available.
