Pure and Simple - Takao's Astute Use of Brute Force
Pure and Simple: Takao's Astute Use of Brute Force, English translation (by Robert J. Terry) of a book by Takao Shinji, 正々堂々 高尾の力学 (Sei Sei Dou Dou Takao no Rikigaku) from the series Selected Readings for Dan-level Players, published by Hinoki Press.
It appears that the book consists of 21 fuseki diagrams taken from professional title tournaments, each is called a theme. The reader is asked to find the correct continuation of play from the theme diagram. Correct and ineffectual continuations are presented using four diagrams per theme.

Thad Is this book translated by the same person who translated Yoda's book? I feel there is a lot of good stuff in there but the translation strongly detracts from it. (If anyone knows what "Crude move used by players enamored with their own strength" is translated from, I would appreciate it.)
Nemir According to http://gobooks.nemir.org, both titles are translated by Robert J. Terry. You can use that site's search tool to get a list of all titles Robert has worked on.
