Niu Li Li

牛力力, Chinese 5-dan professional from Harbin, Heilongjiang Province on 26 September 1961. Her younger sister Niu Xian Xian also a 5-dan professional, and is now married to Michael Redmond. Both sisters played and promoted Go in their native Heilongjiang Province, but both moved to Japan for Go study decades ago.

For many years Niu Li Li was the amanuensis of Go Seigen in the last decade or more of his life. She edited his books and accompanied him to lectures.

Niu Li Li is married to Xiangqi grandmaster Zhao Guo-rong (趙國榮), Chinese Xiangqi National Champion in 1990, 1992, 1995, 2008 and winners of Qisheng 棋聖 in 1995, Mingren 名人 in 1997, and world champion in 1991 and 1999. Their daughter Nyu Eiko is a Nihon-Kiin pro 4-dan. Eiko was introduced to Go Seigen at a very young age.

On 26 July 2018, the mother-daughter pair Niu Lili and Niu Eiko won the third place in the 2018 "Bosi Cup" Kinship Go Invitational Tournament.
