Li Ting is a professional go player from China, who currently (as of January 2010) resides and plays in Austria. She played as an amateur 6d in Europe from 2007 until 2009, and was granted professional status by the Kansai Ki-in in January 2010, and was enacted in March 2010. She has a KGS account named LiTing
The main reason she's staying in Austria is her husband Hu Bin, assistant at the Technical University of Vienna. It's one of the nice stories in go, that happened during the 51st European Go Congress in Villach. Hu Bin was one of the organisers of this congress and Li Ting (who came in 7th) helped out with the Japanese, Korean and Chinese translations. He was pardoned of his responsibilities to have a short trip to Salzburg "with a nice girl" and they married a year after this. She's doing her PhD now in Vienna, where Bernhard Scheid (Pok), a 5 dan from Austria, is her unofficial supervisor. Her official supervisor is Prof. Sepp Linhart, the title of her thesis is planned to be "A comparison of professional systems in go" ( Universität Wien, Institut für Ostasienwissenschaften, Institutsbericht 2011, p. 18)
