Jianqiao Cup
(建桥杯女子围棋公开赛' Jiàn qiáo bēi nǚzǐ wéiqí gōngkāi sài, “Jianqiao Cup Women’s Go Open”). The phrase ''Jiàn qiáo” means “building bridges”, from jiàn = establish, build; qiáo = bridge. This tournament is also known as the Xianye Cup.
It is a ladies-only tournament, the final phase being a 16-player knockout, with a best-of-3 final. 8 players are seeded into the final phase, the other 8 positions are filled by a qualification phase.
It is the richest Chinese female tournament: first two prizes are 150,000 Yuan ($US20,500) and 60,000 Yuan ($US8,000).
There was no tournament played in 2022, presumably because of Covid pandemic lockdowns.
