David (version 14)
I'm David Fifield.
I live in Colorado, USA. I don't know my rank, but I consider myself a relatively poor player.
I have a go web page.
If you wish, you can email me at david@bamsoftware.com. Do not be afraid to leave messages or questions for me here.
LukeNine45: I like the color diagram on the ThreeColourOngoingGame page. Is there any chance you could post the program and/or source code somewhere? :) I would love to see it in action and I bet others would, too!
David: I don't want to release my program yet. I do plan to release it in the future.
The diagram at Three Colour Ongoing Game is a rasterization of PostScript produced by my program. If you're curious, you can look at it with a few explanatory comments. It could be adapted by other programmers to make diagrams in the same style. I made it into a PNG image with this command:
gs -dSAFER -dBATCH -dNOPAUSE -dEPSCrop -dGraphicsAlphaBits=4 \ -dTextAlphaBits=4 -sDEVICE=png16m -r72 -sOutputFile=three-color.png \ three-color.ps -c showpage
The "-dEPSCrop" option is present in GNU Ghostscript version 7.06 or later. If you have an older version, you'll have to specify the output page size manually: "-g306x306".
Because I like to keep things tidy, I have deleted discussions that took place here as they have lost their currency. Notable past versions of this page include:
- Version 1
- In which I object to the use of the term "open-source" to describe GNU Go.
- Version 3
- In which I introduce myself. Featuring Jan de Wit.
- Version 10
- A discussion about pages to explain free software. Featuring Nico and Confused.
