Aragaki Takeshi

Aragaki Takeshi (新垣 武, 4 June 1956 - 28 Nov 2022) was a Nihon Ki-in professional Go player from Okinawa who qualified in 1971 and reached 9-dan in 1994. He was a teacher of insei for seven years. He retired on 30 April 2020.

Pupil of Sakata Eio. Twice runner up to Kobayashi Satoru in the Ryuen Cup young players' tournament, in 1980 and '81.

Author of Practical Life and Death Training Drill, a NHK Lecture Series Book.

His first daughter, Aragaki Miki (未希) is a well known host of go programs on Japanese television. His second daughter Nozomi (望) is also a Go instructor.
