3-4 Point High Approach, Two-Space Low Pincer
Overview
The low pincer at is so rare that it literally doesn't rate a mention in Ishida. It's considered to lack severity: if white tenukis, then black doesn't have a strong followup. (Although since the AI revolution, we know that this is equally true of other distant pincers!) This pincer has become more common in pro games since 2010 (appearing in about 600 out of 80,000 games).
Most commonly, white will indeed tenuki, and black will follow up at one of a, b or c. If white does reply to , the most popular choices for
