I started playing Go in 2000 due to the constant nagging of my father (who is 12 gup) but I didn't seriously get into playing Go until Aug 2002.
I'm currently ranked 4k in KGS and I'm a student at SUNY-Binghamton. I work as a Japanese-English translator on the side to make ends meet :)
I'm back from studying abroad in Hirakata City, Osaka Japan. Fun times, and I even got to visit the Nihon Kiin to boot! :)
Things that interest me in Go the most:
Usage of Japanese Go Terms
Differences in Korean and Japanese approaches to Go
Good Shape
RafaelCaetano: Assuming that you're studying at a university, (sorry if it's too obvious) have you checked if there's a go club there? In Japan, the only go club where I ever met young players was at my previous university. Not that I care, though.
exswoo:I did check while I was there...but it was almost a ghost club with members that weren't all that strong at Go. I did go to some other clubs every once in a while, but I soon got busy with other stuff to keep it up :)
Velobici: Could you add to the Go server reviews and reports page which client you use for IGS? You wrote:
- I rather like the double click for a move feature in IGS, but I feel that the default client is pretty horrible. IGS does seem to have the bulk of the strongest Internet Go players though.
