Approach ko  

White wins the ko and black gets to play three moves elsewhere (were it a normal ko, black would get to play two moves elsewhere).

These three moves are referred to in the page as "ignoring two kothreats".

They now refer to possibly ignoring a ko threat.

Ko threats for the approach ko phase are typically smaller than ko threats for the direct ko phase, and may well be ignored when the ko transitions between phases.
