This would be the first index on SL indexing nothing. It must be possible to point to at least some existing pages. Also, page creation is visible in history. If you see this page as a personal project, then rather make it a subpage of your own.
Cheers, Dieter
This could be a very useful page if appropriate links to other parts of SL were made (I don't have time to do this right now, but may come back later unless someone else beats me to it).
Regarding authorship--there are still many older pages on SL with names of authors at the bottom. I don't see any harm in it. I'm sure Robert understands the special nature of this site and the fact that other people may later add to or edit this page.
RobertJasiek: In fact, this is what I am hoping. Currently the ko pages are too messy and need better structure. The ko types page can contribute to structure greatly.
It is wonderful a good player and theorist takes time to tackle the ko issue. The more good players work on this subject, the better.
I suggest we try as much as possible to keep the impact of difference in rules on the ko theory as low as possible. Dieter
RobertJasiek: How and why?
Why - talking about the rules anytime we explain an aspect of ko, is like studying literature while always keeping in mind the alphabet is incomplete because there is no character for a glottal stop.
How - use keywords and difficulty levels. When the impact of te ruleset is determinant for the page's content, mark it with "rules, ko" and give it a higher level, like "advanced".
Maybe you believe (ko) strategy is fundamentally affected by the ruleset. I don't, with my current feeling for the game. -Dieter
RobertJasiek: There are different interests. E.g., of ordinary players versus of researchers. SL is for both. The question is just how or whether to separate explanations. There are many possibilities for this though. And it requires writers to do it.
Of course, ko strategy is strongly affected by the ruleset but in practice it matters almost only for long cycle kos.
