Weak Bot

WeakBot is a weak bot that used to play on KGS and the Computer Go Server. It is here presumed to be the same as WeakBot50k, which is an alias for this page (as of 2018-09-17).

WeakBot is a version 0.1.6 of Simple Bot. it generates moves based on liberty counting. It manages scoring and clearing at the end of games itself using Benson's Algorithm. An even earlier and weaker version (0.0 + patches) was IdiotBot, which moves at random and needs GnuGo for scoring and clean-up.

WeakBot, like IdiotBot and SimpleBot, can be used as a benchmark for bots in their early stages, e.g. Hello Bot (as of 2018-09-17). It is also used to suggest a proverbially weak level of play, as in the sledging related on The Power of the B2 Bomber.
