The second event presented by US active room will be a lot more serious than the first event. The second event - battle the way to the top will be a tournament of where players fight among each others in "RANKED GAMES". The winner can move on to the next stronger opponent. The winner in the final round will get the opportunity to challenge the "ELITE 4" in the US active room and get a teaching game from a high dan player. This event will also determine which player has stronger go skill and respect.
Registration rule: The tournament is only open to players with a rank of 1D or below. Players without a solid rank (rank with ? will not count) cannot participate the event. The entree to the event is first come first serve, and there will be 16 open spots only (or 32 if we can get enough people).
Game Rule: 25mins main time, and five 30secs byomi. The weaker player will always take black stone or the stronger player will always take white stone. Players with rank difference of 1 will be a 0.5 komi for w as usual. Players with rank difference of 2 to 4 will be a reverse komi of 7.5. Players with rank difference of 5 to 7 will have 3 handi stones and a reverse komi of 7.5. Rank difference of 8 + will be 9.5 reverse komi and 6 handi stones. Matches order will be completely random in order to be fair. Once again, the game has to be RANKED.
Reminder: If you ever have trouble or questions about this event. Please ask kitie99, tsuijin, and sai1029 or anybody in the US active room. Do not be shy. The approved sign indicates that the player had been registered in our list. This is to prevent people from stealing other players' spots.
