# RTG Problem 28 / Attempts

Sub-page of RTGProblem28

Tderz No problemo ... - technique learnt from a hamete variant of the taisha (which I never play - the taisha in general)

Direct ko

Direct ko, white must search for first ko threat,

Black to play.

Black has 1 internal ko threat.

If ..

White wants to resist ...
futile

Possibility

Semeai

JoelR: Now each has 3 liberties (including ), plus the shared liberty, and it's White's move.

Semeai

TDerz: I missed a lot !

Semeai: White wins

Possible danger?

Rich: Although it seems that the black corner is now dead. I've probably missed something...

Tderz: and are miai. Black is dead

Refute

Dieter
Rich: Black still has one eye, no?

And now?

--Bill

Black to play.

Tderz: All of this excellent stuff written above proofs:

• I was indeed careless again, and
• Black should better take care of his group:
Black can't save all and lives in the corner.

What if ?

Tderz If above, black captures with living shape.
Or, if here, it reverts to some upper variations (ko).
black loses, if he wants to avoid the ko

Liberties

Dieter: Black cannot save his cutting stones but lures out his two stones.

More

cannot resist due to lack of liberties

Or ...

Or can White do even better?

DJ: This last diagram seems not so good for White:

Black lives

Now either Black lives or captures also the two stones in the corner. A similar sequence happens if is at a ( at ):

Black still lives

Tderz: Ode to unkx80 (what a composition) - Wahnsinn - I'm lost.
I gave several careless random shots and linger for the solution: is Black doomed on both sides??

unkx80: How embarassing... I seemed to have posted a composition that does not work. -_-

I originally have two solutions in mind.

Alleged solution 1
Alleged solution 2
Alleged solution 2 failure

But now I think kills.

Which means, I need to give Black more liberties as follows. Sorry for the blunder.

Black to play.

Bill: That's OK, unkx80. Even the gods falter. :-)
