Past

Satori Kido Go Club (2016-2022)

Satori Kido Go Club was located at a cultural center in the Satori region of Second Life and was hosted by Evan Soulstar. The coordinates were: [ext] http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Satori/228/160/28

It was a place for Go players and friends to get together, socialize, hangout, and play Go. There were Go Tournaments to compete in and also other board games available to play such as Gomoku, Backgammon, and Mahjong. Additionally, there was a natural onsen hot spring and other places to explore.

Kido Go Club (2012 2016)

From the summer of 2012 to 2016, Kido Go Club was a place to play, learn or teach the game of Go, located at [ext] http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Kido%20Province/128/128/2. In 2016 Silent Ying quit SL and hence, Kido went offline.

The [ext] domain [ext] http://kidogoclub.org/ no longer exists.

Kido Province - The place for Go in Second Life

Kido Province was a beautiful ancient Japanese SIM that was imagined and brought to life by Silent Ying. Besides playing Go, there were many wonderful places to explore:

  • You could enjoy the comprehensive art gallery about Go
  • Practice Tai Chi and meditation in the gardens
  • Relax in the pavilions and talk with friends or listen to the music

It was a very special place, and the regulars will always remember it fondly. A place where friendships were forged that last to this very day.

Gobans used in Second Life

We have wonderful gobans to play Go on inworld. Just like Kido province, these were scripted and built with alot of hard work and dedication by Silent Ying. The games provide lots of features for playing Go and PairGo with a timer/clock and board sizes from 19x19 to 5x5. They have high quality textures, realistic animations and sounds.

Go Center (2008 2012)

Go Center existed in Second Life at [ext] http://slurl.com/secondlife/Vineland/58/93/; it is, alas, closed as of 2012-Feb-03.

As of 2018-06-14, some information was still visible at [ext] https://gcsl.wordpress.com/.

The home page / [ext] subdomain [ext] http://notabene-sl.com/slgc/ now redirects to the [ext] domain [ext] http://notabene-sl.com/. The image link http://www.notabene-sl.com/slgc/aerial%20shot_002.jpg is thus useless.
