Kurita Yoshiki

Kurita Yoshiki (栗田佳樹) is one of top amateurs in Japan, former insei. He became the first amateur to enter league stage of a professional tournament.

• 2018 Won Amateur Meijin, beating Ozeki Minoru 2-1 in the challenge match.
• 2019 Lost the Amateur Meijin title to Ozeki, 0-2 in the defending match. Entered Kisei C league by beating five pros in the preliminary.
• 2020 Remained in the 5 round modified Swiss league with 3-2 score. This put him among top 10% of all pros in the tournament (see Kisei League Format for details).
• 2021 Eliminated from the league with 1-3 score.
• 2022 Won Amateur Honinbo.
