HolIgor: Connection with threatens with a cut. is a defence against the cut. Why white did not fight the ko?

Move 112-  

HolIgor: Attaking white group in the center black closes the top. White managed to close a gap on the right with 3 but that group is not 100% alive yet. Amazing though that black is sure to pull out the bottom group. It looks vunarable.

Move 122-  

HolIgor: With the move 139 () the prelude ends and the real fight starts. Black a kills white group now, so white has to capture to avoid a loss. How many points is that? It is 8 white stones and about 8 points around. So, this is about 12 points miai. Quite a lot. Yet, probably white is feeling that he is behind and will try to turn things around. The purpose is to kill black's group at the bottom.
