bugcat/CoordinateInfoSymbols

For presenting moves in a textual format, like a newspaper column, it might be useful to have extra information embedded into the notation. I had an idea that moves could be notated as

XYS(N)

in which X is the X axis, Y the Y axis, S the symbol and N optional extra data.

The symbols are as follows:

  • +(N) - atari's N stones. N only used when > 1.
  • x(N) - captures N stones. N only used when > 1.
  • = - captures a ko
  • ^ - fills a ko
  • * - throw-in (more useful for tsumego than games)

Note that the parentheses are not actually written.
