Have you considered patting the raccoon's belly?
The raccoon's belly tesuji does not prevent the eye, it prevents the opponent from making more liberties and is therefore only applicable in capturing races.
unkx80: The raccoon's belly is only applicable when the two stones have no external liberties. However, the rule of thumb on this page assumes that the two stones are connected to an existing eye, which usually gives it at least one extra liberty. Therefore, in the usual setting, the raccoon's belly does not apply.
