The Fujitsu Cup game follows a minor, but known joseki until Qiu (not Park!) varies on move 10 in the "Moves 7 to 16" diagram. Until now this was always a solid connection of White 2 and White 4 (for example Zhou Heyang - Gu Li; 10th LG Cup in 2005). It seems that the page should be retitled to something more appropriate.
Yesterday we analyzed this joseki at our club. I will post the results soon. Indeed, it is White who deviates from formerly known patterns. The title was chosen based on a report which seemed to suggest that Black won due to a joseki innovation.
I will adapt the title. Any suggestions?
I do not know what to suggest. The beginning play on this page is not special in any way. It is simply one of the minor lines in the overall joseki. Perhaps simply "2-space high counter pincer" - not so simple is it :-) Should the analysis of the Fujitsu Cup be moved to a separately named and linked page?
Hi Dieter, do you have any strong feelings about the variation at move 4 (atari from the other side) I put on the page? It was good enough to Nie Weiping, Cho Chikun and Cho Hunhyun after all.
