I learned the rules of go in the days before the Internet and never really found any other interested players. For no particular reason, I just dusted off the Go cobwebs in late August, 2004, and I'm hooked.

Right now, this humble beginner loses games on KGS as "austex". I've been using the name "zapped" for a long time in online first-person shooters (Descent3, Unreal Tournament) so I'll probably switch to that name eventually on KGS.

I live in Austin, Texas, I work in microprocessor design, I'm married, and have two kiddos. My hobbies, besides Go, are: swimming/running/biking, photography, piano/guitar, home theater.
