Te Wo Tsunaide

    Keywords: Tournament

A Pair Go tournament presented by Fiery Rain of Go Stones and held annually in Denver Colorado, since 2005. "Te wo Tsunaide" means "Hand in Hand" in Japanese. This was the first tournament specifically for Pair Go in the United States and tries to serve as a model for other Pair Go tournaments. The next one is scheduled for Dec. 6, 2008.

Pairs are matched and handicapped and play knock-out rounds for 1st & 2nd place awards. Knocked-out pairs continue to be paired up and compete for other awards. Other awards have included:

Fighting Spirit: Awarded to knocked out pair with most wins Most In-Sync Pair: Awarded by popular vote among attendees. Out-Standing Youth Pair: Awarded to best performing youth pair that didn't win 1st or 2nd place.

As needed, high kyu sections are created and separate awards are given out. Pairs of all strengths are encouraged to participate.

Prizes have been sponsored by multiple companies including Samarkand, SmartGo, and Kiseido.
