[Diagram]
Solution

Surely W1 is the first move, since playing anywhere else allows Black at W1 to make two eyes.

[Diagram]
Needless?

Perhaps this diagram is almost needless? If B2, W3 kills.

[Diagram]
Solution

If B2 connects, then W3 cuts. The four Black stones at the corner has only two liberties...

[Diagram]
Solution

But if B4 ataris, then bingo, W5 is a snapback.

[Diagram]
Solution

This leaves Black with only one eye.

[Diagram]
Suboptimal

W3 to W5 does the job as well, but it is suboptimal. The sacrifice of W3 is not neccessary here.

[Diagram]
Variation

What about B2? Next, a and b seems miai...

[Diagram]
Variation

But W3 solves the problem. Black suffers from double shortage of liberties yet again.
