Ban'nai Jun'ei (坂内 順栄, 1899 - ?) was a Japanese math teacher and amateur 5 dan, who wrote an endgame theory book titled "あなたは何目の手をうつか" (How many points worth is your move?) in 1960. The book rationalized the endgame miai counting and was the first attempt to numericize even opening and middlegame moves. It was recommended by many professionals including Go Seigen and Maeda Nobuaki in its preface. His later book in 1963 "厚味の研究" (Study on Thickness) tried to numericize thickness with some help from Go and Maeda.

Note: Sakauchi is a misreading of his family name.
