The throw-in at B3 is vital in this problem. After B5, since White cannot make the approach move at a, it is impossible to capture the black+circle stones in a connect-and-die.

The direct placement at B3 is wrong. W4 is a good move which makes the approach move at a possible, so capturing the black+circle stones in a connect-and-die and making the second eye at W6 are miai.
