Oblique Strategies
Oblique Strategies is a set of printed cards created and published by Brian Eno and
Peter Schmidt in 1975. Each card offers a constraint, the artist can use the constraint to break a creative block by its encouragement of lateral thinking. Although not specifically created for Go, many of the constraints (strategies) could be applicable.
A small set (to stay within fair use) is given below
- Not building a wall; making a brick
- Where is the edge?
- Go outside. Shut the door.
- Cut a vital connection
- What to increase? What to reduce? What to maintain?
It is possible to use these cards to play a variation of Cards Go.
