Kamimura Haruo

Kamimura Haruo(上村 陽生, 1949 - 2022) was a Nihon Ki-in professional. He won the first Student Honinbo tournament before qualifying as professional shodan in 1971. Winner of the 10th Shin-ei. Promoted to 9-dan in 1988. Retired in 2021. Deceased on 29th November 2022.

A game between him and Ogawa Tomoko in the 1971 Oteai is used to illustrate the endgame in the first chapter of The Endgame by Ogawa and James Davies.
